He had promised to love her for all eternity, promised to be faithful and true and she had unhesitatingly made the same vows to him. Valar was only a minor wizard when she first met him but after they fell in love she had allowed him to read the first book of Raoth, which enabled him to increase his powers and become her equal. She had kept her promises to him but before a century had passed, he had broken his and to avoid the repercussions that his unfaithfulness would bring, he had imprisoned her in the centre of the earth.
Entrapped in her fiery prison, the fire witch set about undoing the spell Valar had cast upon her. It was one of the most powerful spells in the first book of Roath but fortunately she had followed the advice of the witch's council and had only allowed him to read book one and as book two contained the more powerful magic, she had been able to free herself in less than a year.
